This mission drives our vision to change the way the world grows.
We currently operate a 1,500 sqft, a 4,600 sqft and a 43,000 sqft greenhouse utilizing aquaponics, hydroponics, and nursery plant production.
We are looking for someone to craft, manage and elevate our programs to the next level.
This candidate should be a self-starter with the ambition to increase enterprises within these facilities.
Creative thinking, an entrepreneurial mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively with others are a must for this position.
The Greenhouse and Nursery Production Manager will oversee the planning, growing, and cultural care of various greenhouse production systems.
As such, this person will be responsible for successful implementation of the integrated pest management (IPM) program, the fertility program, oversight of the aquaponics, hydroponics, and nursery programs, and assistance in harvesting, transplanting, and other various aspects of the plant production cycles in place.
The candidate should be self-motivated, self-managed, comfortable in a leadership role, and prepared to create and operate within a budget.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Monitor and evaluate the greenhouse production processes for quality, accuracy, efficiency, and completion.
Identify production bottlenecks and find more efficient solutions.
Management of the IPM program.
Management of the fertility program.
Management of growing conditions and environmental controls in the greenhouses.
Manage crop selection, culture and marketing including implementing the trialing of new varieties, growing practices, and processes.
Direct, guide, and educate greenhouse staff, seasonal and part-time staff, volunteers, and interns.
Create and maintain accurate records, files, and inventories.
Willingness to craft and participate in meaningful experiential learning opportunities.
Expand job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, maintaining personal and professional networks, and joining professional organizations, where appropriate.
Responsible for creating and/or managing within a budget, including business enterprise planning, capital expenditure planning and program development.

hours per week expected, ensuring jobs are completed in the time frames expected.
About of work time will be spent in the greenhouse, in meetings, and at a desk.
Any other duties needed to help drive our Vison, fulfill our Mission, and abide by our company Values.
A Typical Day:
Planning, scheduling, and overseeing all work of the greenhouse team, including full time and part time employees, as well as high school and college level interns.
Monitoring and making improvements to crop production programs and processes.
Strategic planning and implementation of future programs and products that further our mission and deliver on customer needs and expectations.
Including capital expenditure project planning, operational budgetary considerations, and standard operating procedures to take elements from concept to completion.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
Associate degree or higher in an agriculture related field of study.
Bachelor's degree in the field of plants and/or crop production, preferred.

years of experience in a greenhouse/plant nursery setting.
Minimum of 2 years in a management role Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Organized, creative, adaptable, and detail-oriented.
A strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects effectively.
Ability to lift 50lbs and work in extreme weather fluctuations.
Able to complete repeated standing tasks for long periods of time.
Proficient using Microsoft Office suite.
Comfortable with financial data and budgeting Flexibility regarding hours and overall work schedule.
Willingness to work farm events as needed and scheduled.
Must pass background check.
